Hi friends–I’m starting to realize that I need a little help on the admin side of Big Lucks Books. So I’m sending out a random open call below:
STUFF I NEED HELP WITH: Social Media (Facebook//Tumblr/Twitter); event planning; publicity assistance (sending press release queries, finding new marketing avenues, etc); responding to unsolicited MS queries; web editing & issue layout; various other stuff.
HOW MANY PEOPLE I’M LOOKING TO HIRE: 2-3, bare minimum.
STUFF YOU WOULDN’T GET: a paycheck, at least not in the next two years. But BLB did turn a little profit last year, and I am 1) getting smarter about my $; and 2) getting more optimistic about our future.
STUFF YOU WOULD GET: experience in various programs (mostly InDesign & HootSuite); an ‘inside baseball’ look at start-to-finish book production; a chance to maybe help me pick a book//chapbook one day; lots of beer whenever i see you; all the love & support you can handle.
STUFF YOU NEED: Passion & time (5-10 hours a week), and a willingness to commit to providing safe spaces for marginalized communities. No racists, no sexists, no scary cis dudes. srsly.
WHERE YOU NEED TO BE: Anywhere! But I definitely need some help in the DC area.
